Professor Frank Louwen from Germany took charge as his new role as the President of the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (EBCOG). He succeeds Professor Basil Tarlatzis who has successfully completed his tenure as president on 25 November 2023.
The recent EBCOG Council meeting witnessed the changing of the guard. EBCOG thanked Professor Tarlatzis for his excellent service and leadership as President, especially during the troubled times of global pandemic.
Dr Sambit Mukhopadhyay (United Kingdom) who has been serving the organization as its treasurer, is the new President-elect. Professor Helle Karro (Estonia) is elected as the Secretary-General, Professor Piotr Sieroszewski (Poland) as Treasurer, and Dr Ferry Boekhorst (The Netherlands) as Western Region Executive.
Professor Juriy Wladimiroff, after years of remarkable leadership, has transitioned into the role of Past-Chair of the SCTR. Dr. Petr Velebil now assumes the position of the new Chair of SCTR.
In an official statement, EBCOG expressed its congratulations to all winners. “Congratulations to all and we look forward to the future of EBCOG. We thank all of the participants for their candidacy, and are pleased to announce the winners of the elections”, read the official notification.
