There is no separate application procedure for the EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 examination. Candidates should visit the official EBCOG website. Once they complete the Ortrac authentication, they can book their slot for the EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE exam.

EBCOG guidelines stipulate no attempt limits on either EFOG-EBCOG Part 1 or Part 2 OSCE exams.

Cancellation of a booked exam is permitted, but is subject to EBCOG Cancellation Policy. Notably, all such applicants will be levied a 50% deduction on their exam fee, and will not be refunded monetarily. Instead, the remaining 50% will be accrued towards their future EBCOG exams.

Yes. There are strict currency stipulations placed on the EFOG examinations by the EBCOG. It requires that the candidates clear the EFOG Part 2 assessment within three years of passing Part 1.

Part 2 OSCE Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a primary medical degree; they must be medical doctors.
  • Candidates must be listed on the Register of Medical Practitioners of their own country.
  • Candidates can sit Part 1 Examination after they have completed at least 3 years in their training programme.
  • Part 2 Examination can be attempted six months before completion of their training programme as recognised by their national Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society/Authorities

Part 2 OSCE Exam Structure

  • Once candidates pass the Part 1 of the EFOG examination, candidates are put through their paces in an Objective Structured Clinical Examination, which is the EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE. 
  • This practical medical assessment consists of 10 different life-like examination stations.
  • The following stations make up the exam: an article reading and evaluation pair, two basic and two complex technical-skills stations split across both specialties, two on clinical decision-making, and two on communication.
  • Each station runs ten minutes with two minutes’ reading time, conducted in English with standardised stations and marking for every candidate.
  • Stations may involve simulated patients, medical simulators, or examiners directly, scoring skills like history-taking, technical competence, teamwork, and clinical judgement.

Part 2 OSCE Exam Dates

Usually, the EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE examination takes place in a single diet, towards the latter half of the year, every year. 

The EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE is conducted in person around the globe in various locations. However, depending on the demand, availability, etc, there may be variations in seat availability from time to time. 

The upcoming EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE dates are:

  • Application Deadline: 30th November, 2026
  • Exam Date: 19th December, 2026
  • Exam Location: Dublin, Ireland

Part 2 OSCE Booking Guidelines

  • Once a candidate clears the EFOG Part 1, they are eligible to attempt the EFOG-EBCOG Part 2 OSCE within 3 years from thereon.
  • The Part 2 OSCE exam is applied for through the same EBCOG official website.
  • There are only a limited number of slots available per examination centre per day.
  • Candidates are advised to follow the guidelines and book a seat well before the window closes.
